Our office is currently undergoing some renovations. We’re moving a wall to make our control room bigger, getting a nice new closet for our tape storage area, running new com, audio, and video cables… all kinds of stuff.
So today was one of those ubër-productive days, lemme tell ya. There was all kinds of workers going in and out of the office, people displaced, equipment displaced… I have stacks of cameras, family photos, etc. piled up on the floor in my office and three people trying to use the other computer in my office all at the same time.
All in all it sounds like it would have been a major pain in the rear to work today, and I guess on some levels it did… but I actually really enjoyed work today, despite not getting much done. I guess it’s cuz I know what all the work is going to accomplish. We’ll have room to move around during our weekend services, and room for people to sit and observe as we train them, we’ll finally have room to organize our tape archives, Christina will have inputs from the switcher directly into her editing computer…
In other words, growing pains aren’t so bad when you know what the end result is going to be. Maybe that’s why I’ve so strongly resisted all those times when God’s tried to grow me up spiritually… I don’t often see what the end result is going to be, and that scares the daylights out of me. I mean, after all, I’m pretty comfortable with who I am and where life has taken me… why would I want to go to all the trouble of changing that?? Of course an introspective look will quickly tell me that I ain’t perfect… or even close to it, so why wouldn’t I want to work on a few things and see where that takes me?

Isn’t it interesting….
… sometimes it’s during the loudest/craziest times in our lives that the Lord does the greatest work in our lives.
I dunno if maybe it’s because we’re forced to focus more on Him… we have to listen harder to be more in tune with what He’s doing… isn’t it amazing though, how He can work so amazingly through all the chaos!!
